trying to get two of my friends who don’t talk anymore to be so excited about writing they want to be in a whatsapp group together to talk about writing with me
looking through 90s pop music rn for the sake of my work in progress so i know what my characters are listening to when my goth protagonist doesn’t have control over which cd goes in. this is actually… pretty fun
anyway sorry lol i remembered that yesterday i got really sad about missing someone and then a minute or so later id already forgotten again. my amnesia is hilarious
i probably won’t actually even use tiktok today but it’s the only thing in my agenda i can point to today. actual plans include perfectionism over character files and layouts and imagining a movie about said characters to my music playing
thinking about that person on dutch writing site who after watching the ballad of songbirds and snakes movie adaptation (clearly not knowing the books because they didn’t seem to know what the quarter quells were) and proposed a public rpg idea of the 60th games with as a “particularly cruel twist” that adults had to go instead of children. buddie that’s less cruel. killing children is usually considered more cruel than killing adults. also you know you can just play teens and scrap the romance right
anyway the whole point is that they’re two faced. and complex. they’re not these stoic disdainful assholes who think love and family are for losers - at least not entirely. that’s the fun of them. they’re complicated
anyway people make the same mistake with light yagami in thinking he’s extremely unlikable and snobby when canonically he was popular and considered sweet even by other people. they may BE bitchy and grumpy but they don’t ACT like they are
“he is cold and grumpy” in the book he was called gent as a peacekeeper. because he had gentlemanly table manners. he was insanely mean inside his head but everyone else thought him charismatic and kind to the point that lucy gray (who doesn’t come off as particularly dumb) called him “pure”. rebels trusted him. he’s a bitch for sure but he did also know how to hide that.
just realized that the “odd industrial vampire vibe that fits very well in trashy neighborhoods like the one i grew up in” is just old school goth. im thinking about 80s and early 90s goth. like what my mom raised me on because she was part of that subculture (just didn’t dress like it). how did i not realize this
anyway i knew the music was new wave because its the majority of my playlists nowadays anyway, it just didn’t entirely click that that nostalgic feeling would not have existed without it
“yeah its that vibe i get when driving through industrial parts of the city for hours with the car radio on” your mom was playing the lost boys soundtrack and other new wave music. that’s the vibes you mean
“i’m gonna start cussing people out but with some biblical ass shit like like i hope ur crops wither and bear no fruit and the ravens eat ur mustard seeds” how are you thinking about creepypasta at all. none of these characters have any well established personalities
“i think this meme is more fitting for candy pop or puppeteer than it is for bloody painter” …they’re supposed to have personalities fleshed out enough for this meme?
