          So it begins.
          
          HTM’s new version is yours to read starting with the release of the Prologue! There will be weekly updates unless stated otherwise ! Next week will have the first three chapters because I think they’re in solid sharing condition!
          
          Ultimately I’m sharing this version because I wanted to share it. I miss sharing things and this is to satisfy my own personal goals and to motivate myself into writing again.
          
          I’m nervous but I’m ripping the band aid off. I hope it’s to your liking! Thank you for your support!

          Hi Hi All!
          
          Still not dead!
          
          But I have seriously begun rewriting the series! I'm like halfway through so I have neat updates!
          
          1. It'll re-debut this year! It's split into two parts! So the first part will drop in March! I'll let you know a specific date the closer we get but things are looking like March will be the start of this adventure again. For realsies this time!
          
          2. The title of the book . . . let's discuss if you see this. I'll put a notice in the OG version to make suggestions but truthfully, it's been bugging me if the title is a vibe or not. This version has more to it so maybe it'll change or I'll do something fun with the part titles... hmmmm.
          
          Those have been my thoughts. I want to make like a little place for people to talk if you're down because I'm not on here at all except to refer to the other books or read comments etc. I am sorry it's been a long wait but the tenth anniversary is this year I believe so we have to go BIG !!!

          Hello all. I am not dead.
          
          In fact, I have just graduated university so that’s why i’ve been away for so long. I’m also old but not that old. Also, loads of inconveniences have come my way.
          
          Anyways. I know i had promised to share the rewritten version of the serious LONG ago however as i just mentioned, I’ve been busy. 
          
          I now have a ton of free time though so I will be doing my best to dedicate time to sharing the new version. I cant ask you any more to be patient if interested but.. it’ll exist in due time.
          
          Lastly, I read a lot of the comments that appear. You guys are funny. While I am not in the app much, I do get emails so I see what happens. While i’m not taking any negativity personal (because I wrote the story when i was very young and it was my first time writing a series) please don’t fight LOL. It’s okay if you don’t like it or if the next person doesn’t and you do. It’s just a silly little story little me made when I was like… 13.

          Just wanted to pop in to assure everyone I’m not dead. Rather been busy with life and university. 
          
          I decided in the end to take my time with revisiting the world of HTM bc I was having a hard time emerging myself in it but I have a break soon which I’ll spend some time workshopping it again so I can make plans to actively reshare the story. 
          
          I’ve noticed this app is a bit different from when I first came onto it so I’m not really familiar with it all so hopefully those interested will receive it well. It’s cool if not. The rewriting is just for my own satisfaction to be honest and anything that comes after is simply just to have fun and receive feedback.

Hello !!!
          
          I’ll jump right into it: there is a delay in the release of the 2022 version of HTM. For good reason!
          
          I’m graduating soon and this semester I am taking a writing class that it really breaking down what works and doesn’t work when telling a story and I’ve noticed a lot of errors in my storytelling with this version. I’ve rewritten the first chapters and notes so many times but it still doesn’t feel right. 
          
          However! Never fear. It’ll be starting this year for sure and I’m really excited for the new story! 
          
          Some spoilers:
          
          - there are various name changes/spellings
          - major character plot/role changes !!! 
          - Newport is more inspired by the actual port city than it actually being the real one .. 
          
          all of these will be addressed in detail in the foreword for old readers to understand. i cant decide if i want a prologue or not which is the biggest hold up because it will need to set the stage.. but then working out those kinks have driven me insane so i’ve taken a little break from it to stay on top of the semester. 
          
          perhaps.. now that i think of it. I will create a book in which you guys can leave comments about some thoughts/a way to keep tabs on the production because i am not sure if everyone keeps up with these messages. i’ll even debut the new cover!!

          Hi Hi,
          
          Having Two Mates will begin being re-released by the end of summer 2022. This is the official deadline I will give myself. The old version will remain for those who decide to read on/are in the process of reading.
          
          Anyways, I have done a lot of thinking and resting and wanted to take my time bringing the story I intended to life. It was a bit overwhelming trying to start over with a story that many grew up and i felt a bit self conscious with my decisions; so that’s also why it’s taking so long.
          
          I’ve also been sick a lot since the last notice and I’m busy a lot more lately but I do love this story and want to see it through so I hope you understand. And if you do, I look forward to seeing your reactions to the new version! This will be my last update as I’ll be trying to focus on writing. But I wanted to reassure you I haven’t forgotten and I’m not dead. Lol.

          it’s march.. almost april. i’ll be transparent and say i haven’t had time to write .. the farthest ive gotten is halfway through a screenplay and one chapter that i’ll probably revise again and again. 
          
          on the bright side, my busiest project outside of writing has concluded so i will be motivating myself to write more and hopefully come may I can start releasing the new version! that’s the deadline i want to give myself to at least have ten chapters finished and finalized. i would like to make this a summer project where i’m just writing all the time because i do have another big project to work on come next year !

Some spoilers/updates for the rewrite (specifically book 1):
          
          - there will be three (3) books and the titles for 2 & 3 have changed.
          B1: Having Two Mates
          B2: After Two Mates
          B3: Forever Two Mates
          (I can’t think of better titles so I just used the old ones to fit the concepts)
          
          - Book 1’s events follow the original still; Book 2 (if you read the originals) follows all of OG B2 and the first half of OG B3. I combined them because OG B3 PT1 is a continuation of B2. B3 will be the second half of OG B3 and all of B4. No more wasting your time with fillers unless necessary.
          
          - B1’s events play out in a short amount of time (like.. 2-3 months) so the number of chapters may get shorter again. 25 max still.
          
          - Our main trio are written very different. VERY different. Mainly to reflect what they became in the original stories and to make sense of minor details and clean up plot holes.
          
          I think that’s all!

Ah hello again!
          
          In the time away since I last wrote I got super sick and then eventually and unfortunately contracted COVID. Was not fun but I am recovered and have a test scheduled next week.
          
          I’ve started writing! A screenplay at least, so I can visualize the story better and see what works now that I have new notes. I’ll post a second message after this and put a authors note at the beginning of the rewrite to reiterate some changes that will happen.
          
          I haven’t decided if I want to remove the original story and start anew. A lot of people have found it and are adding it to their lists and many of you are attached so I may leave it for comparisons… But I will say I’m embarrassed y’all had to read that chaotic mess LOL.
          
          But please do anticipate the new version! I like how it’s shaping.

          Hi all! Hope this reaches you well and for those coming to the page hi hi welcome welcome.
          
          Where do I begin?
          
          It’s been like three years since I last came on to see what’s going on. And even longer if you count the years since the last rewrite. It’s been almost a decade since I first published the book.
          
          It’s been a minute.
          
          I apologize for making empty promises. However, I have SERVERAL good reasons as to why I haven’t said much nor written more like I promised.
          
          The main one being I got older and life got a bit harder. 
          
          But there is GOOD news. 
          
          Since my time here on the app, it’s grown in popularity meaning more people have found the story and I’ve received a lot of comments and messages about updates and other things in general. I want to first take the time to say thank you but also say I’m going to rewrite the story again.
          
          I came across my old notebooks where I had mapped the story out and truthfully, I had no idea what direction i wanted to go in or what I wanted in the story (hence why Book 2 was never rereleased) but I’m taking time now to rethink it all bc the story does have a special place in my heart and I’m in positions where opportunities could come out of it. I also want to expand more on things I rushed and better the pacing because I can do better to give you a stronger story that’ll make sense as the rest of the series is published.
          
          I will most likely share further details in an update in the actual book so the news can spread a bit faster and so people aren’t blindsided but yes, yes, I will be rewriting the whole thing again AND writing a screenplay!
          
          Not that a deal is in the works per se but my brain works a bit better writing it visually and it’s fun and when the deal comes it’ll be a start!
          
          Anywhoosies. I hope you all have been well and taken care of yourself since the time I’ve been away! Go do something that’ll make you happy today and bundle up, it’s getting cold.
