@bakerhadley Its not new and it wasn't finished, but if you haven't read it The Lost Heir is pretty good. I think it would be considered covid era.

logged onto this website for five seconds because i was trying to figure out if the line i keep quoting was from the fic i thought it was (it was) and then i CRIED SO HARD because i miss you all so badly all the time. being here was sooo essential to the years of my life i spent on here and i’ve been thinking about it so much! yeah i miss you all very much you raised and saved me on so many levels. i’m never here but i’m more active on tumblr (@/cathinthealps) if anyone is on there and wants to reconnect ever ⭐️⭐️⭐️ in tears i miss this community deeply

@bakerhadley I think this is a first-rate piece of work. The analogy you used in the third paragraph was really clever. It was both easy to grasp and somehow also something that kind of needed to be read twice, which only served to really drive the point home. I don't think most people think of resolutions as potentially harmful. And for some people I imagine they aren't. But for some people its just another way for them to let themselves down and feel like they've failed, something that can take an almost imperceptible yet very real toll. Drawing people's attention to things the culture leads us to do almost automatically is a very useful thing to be doing. A very worthwhile contribution.
