I was today years old when I did a history digging and there’s an actual balkanic group of people called Illiryians I don’t know how I feel about the way the whole “race” is depicted in the books now and their treatment but oh well the more you know about little history trivia
@Faelin_345 omg it’s so impressive !!! I only learned now thanks for sharing more about them !!!! I de agree with you it’s alwasy tricky to put real people or groups in fantasy book especially if they are depicted like this
@authorcorner I love learning about ancient history so I already knew the Illyrians were an actual group and-I don't know if it's just me-but I don't like the idea of using the name of a real life group of people for fictional races, especially one who are depicted as dumb savages. And the real life Illyrians were anything but that. They were highly skilled craftsmen, particularly in shipbuilding.
