A girl was sat alone in a small coffee shop, a tan trench-coat around her shoulders and a blue and silver scarf with an embroidered crest around her neck.

Despite being alone, she didn't look lonely. More... content. She liked being alone. Her blue eyes looked full of life as her short, pale fingers curled around the mug in front of her. She brought the mug to her lips and took a sip of the orange-brown mixture inside. Tea - the perfect beverage for a cold day.

Her thin lips curved into a smile as rain poured heavily onto the street outside and people wrestled with their umbrellas and coats to ensure they wouldn't get too wet, or ran to get inside of the obscure shops that lined the high street.

Nothing too interesting was happening around her. People were coming and going with their take-away cups and the odd cookie. Some would sit down to enjoy their break, but they would soon hurry off again in a blur of coats and bags.

The girl sipped her tea and tapped away at her laptop, occasionally looking up to observe the people flocking in and out. 

Anyone would think that she was cramming for a test, or bashing out an essay due the next day, but that was far from reality. 

The truth is, she was in another universe. Another world full of hunters and aliens and consulting detectives.

She could be or do anything she wanted there. All she needed to do was type in a URL and soon she was transported to Hogwarts or Bag End.

Her real life was incredibly dull. The occasional acquaintance, but no friends other than her six cats.

In the world she was in now, she'd fly away in a big blue box to save people and hunt things, the family business, drawing cat whiskers on her face and wondering what it must be like in other peoples funny little brains. It must be so boring.

Aurora, the small girl in the coffee shop, with unlimited power. All she needed to do was pull up a website called 'Wattpad'.
