haven't wrote/updated in awhile. i'm currently in the process of updating things! let me know your favorites and what you want more of.

on another note, i haven't been posting because of the discourse surrounding the lost cause music video and queerbaiting. it hurt me because i got my hopes up and really thought she was coming out, especially with the 'i love girls' post. i kept waiting and waiting for her to say something about it, but she typically doesn't do that. nevertheless, it's an important conversation to have about queerbaiting, because there's multiple definitions, most involving profiting off of books/movies/shows that intentionally make characters appear queer to reel in lgbt fans, but don't actualize it for their straight fans. i don't think billie's music video falls under that definition. i am a sexuality studies major in college, so i've definitely overthought this, but i'd appreciate anyone else's thoughts on the whole thing!

just gonna comment some other thoughts about the "drama":
1: if people preach that sexuality is a spectrum, they shouldn't in the same breath be frustrated that someone is publicly displaying themselves experimenting. if sexuality is in fact fluid, we should give people room to explore themselves at any point in their lives, no matter how old, no matter if they've said they are one thing, because labels can change.
2: she doesn't necessarily "owe" an explanation because people will form their own opinions and maybe she doesn't want to go through the process of proving she is who she says she is.
3: people commented that if she doesn't have a label or isn't figured out then she shouldn't put something out that suggests she's queer. however, this feels very much like a shame culture, plus she's been in the public eye since she was very young
