kaito had been roaming the nation’s wide streets for an hour or so, lazily eyeing any benders or peasants he could auction off before his eye caught on a familiar tattoo on the forearm of a passing peasant. only a single moment passed before the light of recognition shone in his eyes and he spun like a beyblade to take a better look. he took a long look at his companion- who looked especially rare, considering she didn’t look like any of the other peasants here.
he followed behind closely until that useless firebender flexed his nonexistent muscles and left to get the girl some fire flakes and he saw his chance.
“hello there , you don’t look like you’re from around here ,” he began conversationally, walking up to lean on a counter next to her, “that boy you’re with us bad news .”

@capitalistics her eyes wandered around his figure and analyzed him—from the way he spoke to the way he presented himself to her. he was crafty, she could tell, so she decided to continue amusing him. “ well, fortunately for me, this ‘ dog ’ hasn’t offered me anything. ” she rose an eyebrow as he took the fruit from the stand and took a bite before paying for it, taking mental notes about his character ; she took her apple and smiled at the merchant as a thank you, and motioned the stranger to assist her in a stroll down the street. “ oh, nowhere too crazy, i’m from the fire nation colonies within the earth kingdom, but i recently moved here not too long ago—and now i’m leaving again. ” she lied smoothly, taking a bite out of her apple and sent a wink towards kaito—a sign that she wasn’t going to go into futher depth about it.

@ancientsuns (1/2) his eyes watched the merchant hand her a fruit, and felt himself wrinkling his nose at the musty air that usually every fire nation colony entailed. It was especially strong in the mainland. After years of observing firebenders and their nation, he could instantly tell something was up with the individual he was currently ‘conversing’ with. To see Ryuu with her instantly raised her importance in his eyes, because he knew for a fact that the boy he’d become so close with was always on the lookout for strong firebenders in a quest for power. “Uh- i guess. You should always be honest,” he mock-lectured, letting out his own small laugh at the thought of how similar he sounded to the avatar in that moment. “As for your little dog, ‘course i know him, we were travelling together for a while. That’s how i know whatever he’s offered you- he’s gonna cause you a lot of trouble for it,” he joked, still grinning before stealing a fruit straight from the stall and eating it- the merchant not getting the chance to begin berating him because of him slapping down a bill (too harshly to be polite) in front of him. “Where are you from, exactly?”

@agniskai no, i suppose not . . . i’ve heard much about the capital, but i was never able to venture far enough from home to see it myself, but here i am now.
