            the court of resonance houses many families who each have their interpretations on beauty. those which were most commonly held banded together under the banner of a 'house', becoming what became known as the 'great four':  aria, dolce, notturno and maestoso. each holds considerable sway within the court, and their input is greatly valued over other, smaller houses. a house is comprised of many families, with one particular family that holds the most influence acting as their head. each family will have a representative head, who answers to the head of the 'house'. most families will remain in the same house over generations. but while rare, it is possible for a family to switch to a different house- for instance, if a new family head holds differing views to their predecessor. therefore, while a family may be known for belonging to a particular house, it is not unheard of for their allegiances to change.
