yeah. that’s a good point. [her body slumps, arms crossing over her stomach,] it’s just kinda weird because i keep getting these … I don’t know, flashbacks, i guess? like, of mom’s aunty & uncle that she always used to talk about. i’ve never met em though.

[ he rests his hands in his hoodie pockets, ] mom would tell us. i mean, we could handle anything. we’re jones’. and even if it was true, it doesn’t mean we’re anything like that guy.

monsters, huh? what do you know about that? [ her head gestures to the way of the diner, starting to walk, ] ‘course. if my uncle’s working a shift we might get free waffles, so fingers crossed.

wow, the american dream is right here in blithe hallow. you know, without the monsters and stuff, [ he says, ] can we get some food?

fun is a never ending cycle in this town, if you know where to go, [ stopping in the middle of the sidewalk, pointing to certain locations, ] around the corner there is the diner, it’s where everyone goes after the football games. and there is the arcade, run by greta — he knows everything, the hacks, codes, maps — has a couple of comics to sell too. and right by that is the mall, if you were looking to do some shopping.

nicer? considering their environment i don’t quite blame them. all the wounds they have to see, it’s scary to think about. [ her eyebrows rise at his question, more of an invitation than anything else. she hums, shaking her head slightly, ] no, i have the rest of the night to myself actually. what were you thinking?

hm, well if it bothers you, [(…) a pause, shuffling through her bag for a paper with her number scribbled on it. she would have had cards if they weren’t deemed ‘fancy’ and not trustworthy.] just call me, i’ll come by and check in on it.

did you get stitches done? from what I remember, the wound was deep. [he wasn’t even her patient and she was no longer a medic, but still, she had to be sure. friend or foe, a life is at risk when undergoing a healing process.] you don’t owe me a thing. just be careful out there.

used to be a paramedic, actually. i could have done a lot more if you didn’t run off. [a tilt of her head, examining the other as best she can from the distance between them,] you’re different. you /actually/ care, unlike the rest of them. the way you swore to yourself to get the job done — i respect that.
