why do i get my best fic ideas during exam season, it's acc evil.
anyways, it's PJO season and hear me out on post war Drew Tanaka x Ethan Nakamura. Peak trauma bond. definitely a little enemies to lovers because she'd resent anyone who sided with kronos, but they're both grieving dead siblings and are somewhat of outcasts at camp (drew because aphordite cabin and their association with Selena, and Ethan with his association with Luke/Kronos).

i miss writing for the ASOIAF fandom so I think my next project is going to be a short Jace fic, Cinderella retelling. Post Dance AU where Rhaenyra gets the throne, but Jace is her only surviving Velaryon child, hence still heir. And the OC is a daughter of a ratcatcher so lots of angst potential (she doesn't like the monarchy very much cuz aegon had her dad executed along with all the ratcatchers). anyways after the war, rhaenyra holds a feast to celebrate Jace's coming of age or something, cue Cinderella shenanigans.

That sounds super cool! Very excited to read it! I went through something similar with that same fandom (got tired of writing Aemond stuff) so I wrote a story for Daeron, it was just different enough that it felt even better diving back into ASOIAF. So I wish you the same good vibes with this project! And of course, happy Halloween! :)

Anyways i need to find a way to make it angstier because the angst is just not angsting. Though to be fair I'm mostly a fantasy writer and you can't really do that level of tragedy in a romcom lmao

how do people find the motivation to keep writing for fandoms that are basically dead after the show/movie stops airing?
this doesn't apply to large fandoms like ASOIAF I guess cuz there's always something going on to keep it relevant but I'm talking about other random pieces of media. Cuz i have so many WIPs and although I don't have the time to do them justice rn, i feel like if I pull them out like next year everyone will have moved on, but they're still very dear to me.

Because once it stops airing the fanfiction is the only way for fans to get their fix. You can only rewatch something so many times and a fanfiction promises you get a new twist but with a familiar fandom you already love.

I’m also someone that cares about views and relevance, so what I do is rewatch it. If it’s a marvel character, rewatch the stuff they’re in. Star Wars character? Watch their movies/shows. Rewatching can reignite that love and watching it can trigger those ‘daydreams’ of how you’d picture ur character there. If you remember your love and passion for the story and character, you won’t think as much about what’s relevant cuz some ppl discover the media long after it’s popular and get discouraged when they see nothings been made or updated since it was popular.

i just try not to think about views or anything like that. i have a story i want to write, and there may be someone out there who cares, there may not, but at the very least ~I~ care and i focus on the joy i get from bringing my ideas to life :) it also rly helps to make writing friends to yap about everything to! it makes it so much fun to brainstorm that way
