@acciochocolatefrog really hoping the show will depict the book stuff more accurately, since it's their only excuse for making it so early (the movies are still relevant, probably always will be).

            On the one hand, I agree with you since I had read the books first and afterwards saw the films and was disappointed. There are so many little special moments and funny situations in the books (especially with Fred, George and Sirius) that you just can't put in a movie but which are essential for the book's plot atmosphere. On the other hand, I guess the books are less thrilling to read as you already know the main plot if you watched the films before reading. Besides, watching the movies first makes it more difficult to imagine the looks of the places and protagonists on your own when you read the books. So I am still fine with reading the books first ;)

the movies are still great ofc, the way the books were translated to the screen was great and would’ve been really hard, but the amount of content left out would’ve had me so sad—especially in gof and ootp—if i’d been expecting to see the scenes i’d read in the books
