@a_scarlet_letter rip open a pillow, scratch on smth scratchy, drop a utensil or smth made of glass, scribble harshly on a notebook, chew on ice cubes, put hands or feet inside ice water.... So yeah tell them to do these instead of harming. And always keep assuring them that you're by their side, and keep helping them through whatever they're going through :)

I’m not sure how to bring it up, but if u want to suggest them a coping mechanism these are my favorite:
- put a drop or two of red food dye on your wrist then a rubber band, then pick at the band so it spreads the dye in lines with the sharp stinging of the band slapping their wrist
- hold ice against your scars to create a sharp pain directly on the scarred skin
- ice cold or incredibly hot showers
- hit yourself, eventually you have to move on from that bc it is still harming yourself, but if they are cutting its a step
- put tape over your skin and peel it off quickly to have the sting

it's 2021 and it's been 11 years, but I am still not over how trashy the Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief movie was.
don't get me wrong, the book was amazing, but the movie was literal trash and they messed up the whole thing. They are supposed to be 12, not adults. Annabeth is supposed to have gray eyes and blonde hair, not brown hair and blue eyes. She's supposed to be smart, witty, and clever but the movie made her so useless. Her main weapons are her Yankees cap and dagger and she didn't even have either in the movie!
They made the fight during Capture the Flag between Percy and Annabeth, even though it's supposed to be Percy and Clarisse! Yet, Clarisse isn't even in the movie. This is also where the claiming scene happens, but instead it's Chiron who tells Percy that he's the son of Poseidon. The claiming scene is literally what sets the entire story into motion, and it's not even in it!
There is also a scene with the Hydra in it, and I was watching it like ????? Where the hell did that come from?? Hydra wasn't even in the book! And when did they ever go the Parthenon in the book?
They made the pearls a big part of the movie, even though it's not like that in the book. The pearls were Poseidon's, not Persephone's. And wtf was Persephone doing in the Underworld during summer? This goes against the entire myth about Hades and Persephone. Everyone knows that she's only in the Underworld during autumn and winter, not spring and summer.
They made Hades the bad guy in the movie, even though it's actually Ares. hell, Ares is literally THE MAIN VILLIAN and he's not even in the movie!
They left out so many good scenes, like Echidna and the Chimera, the part where they fell into Hephaestus's trap, etc. They left out a lot of characters, like Clarisse, Kronos, Mr. D, etc.
I could add so much more, but I'm running out of space. the conclusion is: The Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief movie is the worst film adaptation to ever exist.

@a_scarlet_letter exactlyyy When I read the series I was so excited to watch the movie even when I saw people saying it's such a disappointment, but when I watched it myself I realized what they meant. And as you said, the main characters look 15+ which made it impossible for the whole movie series to continue because they would all be 20 year olds by the end of it.

hey do any of you know this fic where louis sends messages to his mom, sisters, and harry before he kills himself and he tells harry that he loves him. harry doesn't reply and louis is heartbroken so he jumps from a bridge. in the end, it says that harry didn't reply because he got into a car crash and died. i think it was called 14 messages or something like that, and it's on wattpad. do you any of you know this fic?
