I've done this exact thing so many times and it never get's easier. It's funny how you can grow in so many different ways and still be so nervous about 2,000 characters. I'm an introvert (Surprise!), but I'm chatty as hell with people I like talking to. So let's do 3 things about me I love to talk about:
The Bay Area: That's home. I left because of what the tech industry has made it. I love what it represented. In my memory at least. Nothing makes me feel more like a child than the smell of foggy ocean air in Golden Gate Park. Exploratorium and Academy of Sciences forever!!!
Being a dad: Love it! Listening to Calm Down by Rema over and over again cause all the kid wants to do is dance to it? Meh. Getting kicked in the ribs all night because lil dude somehow always ends up horizontal in the bed? Sucks. Saying "Hey don't touch that." or "Don't hit." dozens of times on a daily basis? Exhausting. Paying basically double rent because child care is stupid expensive? Heartbreaking. Watching a baby blob slowly turn into an actual creative, observant person with their own personality, preferences , and opinions? Amazing! Love it! Totally worth it.
I'm having trouble coming up with a third. Writing? Is that corny? Ya? Yaaaaaaa. That's why we're here though isn't it? Alright, alright, not much better but here's my three (current) favorite books: Sphinx by Anne Garreta. She so skillfully withholds the gender of the main character you don't even realize its happening. To be able to read it in it the original French is a goal. M Train by Patti Smith. When I'm real sick all I want is Patti and ungodly amounts of bread. The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami. So many far more intelligent people have talked about this author. I just wanted to exist in those pages. Like some observing spirit following Toru around on his journey. Or maybe just be his cat.
Hello. My name is Judah. Glad to meet you!!
