When not telling stories I am a professional music composer. I write music for the TV world. At the moment I'm working on a couple cartoon series.

I am married and have three children. I was Born in Indiana, USA, but now live in New Zealand.

I am very excitedly involved in the amazing community transformation project that the Baha'i Community is spearheading world wide. My involvement is around youth mentoring younger youth and children to transform the neighborhood we live in. It's the best party in town.

I love games of all descriptions: board games, basketball, computer games (I recently un-installed DOTA because it was taking over my life), and especially RGPs (especially, especially D&D). 

A good fantasy book is the perfect escapism. 

While unique settings, incredible creatures, and unbelievable magic is fun, for me they are not nearly as important as characters that I can connect with, and protagonists that are noble in the face of adversity. Someone sacrificing their dreams for the well-being of someone else is far more powerful than a guy with a big sword saving the universe by smashing the stuffing out of an unstoppable bad-guy. 

For me, diversity of culture within the cast of characters is very attractive, as is a balance between strong male and female characters. And while I am drawn to adventure in a story I must admit that I'm also a sucker for love.
