WHAT IS THIS:
As the profile name suggests, this is THE go to place for top notch, high quality and of course high performing Urban Content. Legendary writing that focusses on people of colour as either the creators of work, people of colour as the lead characters within fictional and/or non-fictional literature and topical discussions that focus on issues surrounding people of colour.
WHY THIS EXISTS:
I wanted there to be a place where I can escape into worlds where I relate to the characters depicted, a place where I recognize the places described, and a place where I remember strikingly similar situations; I knew these stories existed on #Wattpad but there didn't seem to be one significant place to find them. SO I CREATED ONE!
HOW TO GET YOUR WORK FEATURED HERE:
All you need to do tag your work with the hashtag #UrbanLegends (remember to include the "S") if you think it is a great story.
CONTENT: Does it make you reflect on your own life? Does evoke emotion? Does it tackle political issues, current events, pop culture? Is this just simply something you can't put to down? TAG IT #UrbanLegends
CALIBRE: The writing style is good --really good! Writer clearly understands grammar and sentence structure (may have a few spelling mistakes but overall good).
COMMUNITY: Remember it doesn't just have to be your work you can always suggest a piece by writing/linking the story title or the in the conversation section. Or maybe advise the writer to tag it themselves.
I NEED TO POINT OUT:
Although this is called "Urban-Legends" and focusses on primarily black writers, characters, content and other communities of colour I want to make clear that every person is welcome to read, engage and experience this platform in all it's glory.
