Friends,

A couple of updates! First of all, I am bumping the rating for The Joy That Was Mine to “mature” for the content of the latest chapter. It isn’t horribly graphic or anything and I try my best to be mindful/tasteful while writing intimate scenes in my stories. But you never know. I did get kind of carried away- as often happens! Lol! In line with this decision, I am posting the final chapter a week from today. It has some pretty heavy stuff in it as well. So this just seemed to be the best decision. Also, I just wanted to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has read/commented on/voted for this project! I had the idea for this story for years and being able to get it out on paper and shared with the world has been beyond wonderful! I’m going to miss it dearly, but this certainly won’t be the last that you will be seeing of these stories!

          	Take care, all!
          	Your friend,

          	Lisa

Friends,

I will be updating on Tuesday instead of Monday this week. Snow delayed my husband and I from heading home from Portland today. I tried editing in the hotel and let me tell you, it was NOT happening! Hopefully chapter 9 will be worth waiting for, it’s probably my favorite chapter of the story so far!

I hope you all are having a safe and happy holiday season!!!

Friends,

Thanks to a minor disruption in my usual schedule, I went ahead and posted chapter 8 of The Joy That Was Mine today instead of tomorrow (yay?!) Lol! Chapter 9 will be up next Monday. As always, I am so thankful to everyone who is reading this story. I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season!

Friends!

Thanks to an unanticipated bout of inspiration, chapter 7 of The Joy That Was Mine is edited and ready to be posted on schedule tomorrow. Chapter 8 is also in good shape and will be posted next week. Thank you again for your kind and encouraging words this last week, it’s been a challenging season. Lots of ups and downs. I decided to take my time away from writing to do some reading. Honestly, just spending a couple of days in another story allowed me to approach this one with fresh eyes. Creativity is so infectious! I dare to dream that my own writing inspires you to tell your stories, too. It feels good to be back and I am so excited to continue sharing this little piece of my heart with you all! :-D

Wonderful readers and wonderful friends,

This is a difficult announcement to make, but I am afraid my updates are going to slow down for a while. They won’t stop completely, but I need a few weeks away from my story for the sake of mental health. While writing is deeply therapeutic for me, it requires a certain headspace that I can’t seem to access right now. I’m hoping that after a brief pause, I will arrive there again. I cannot thank you enough for the love that you have shown my work, just knowing that my writing is being seen and enjoyed gives me more joy than I can describe.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I will see you all again very soon.

          Your friend,

          Lisa

@inkelegy Thank you so much for being so understanding and so supportive, my friend! It makes my heart so happy to hear that my writing means as much to others as it does to me. Writing can be a lonely endeavor, but having friends like you on my side makes things so much happier and so much brighter! =-) I adore your work as well and am rooting for you just as you are for me! Stay safe, happy, healthy and inspired! =-D

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and understanding words, my friend. I am so sorry to hear that you are going through a difficult season as well. I know this is said far too frequently, but nobody can pour from an empty cup and sometimes it really is best to rest and recharge so we can keep going. Creative souls feel deeply and when we hurt, we hurt deeply. Sometimes I get so caught up in the creative process that I don’t even realize that I am struggling until I burn out. It’s just something that I need to work on in the future. You have such a wise outlook on all of this, I believe that you will return to writing when you are ready and it will be just as incredible as ever. I look forward to seeing more of your beautiful work! Until then, take care of yourself and remember that you have friends who are cheering you on and are wishing you all of the creativity and happiness in the world! =-D

@SincerelyMarigold, I wish you well & the best, dear friend. I understand this too well, for it is also why I am taking a pause from writing. My mental issues have intensified, which is disheartening considering the progress I've made, and financial issues have grown, and I have not been in a good mindset at all. So, I am doing my best to hang on but also heal myself in other healthier ways (such as drawing). I know and believe we will make it through our inner hurdles. Until then, we must rest well mentally, physically, even emotionally the best we can and re-energize. :) When we both return to our writing, I know it'll be wonderful. ^_^

Friends,

Chapter five, my final posting for the month of November is now up. As of right now, I am planning on sticking with the same updating schedule as before (new chapters of The Joy That Was Mine every Monday). Thank you so much to everyone who has read, voted for and commented on this new story! NaNo was not without its challenges this year and simply knowing that my work is not only being seen but also enjoyed kept me going- more than you know! I hope you all are having a healthy and happy holiday season filled with creativity and joy! :-D

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been struggling, my wonderful friend. Difficult times always seem to sneak up and spoil our big plans. It sounds like you found a perfect way to cope and I’ve loved seeing the drawings that you’ve been sharing recently! As for writing, I always try to tell myself whenever I’m in a slump that simply thinking about writing and seeking inspiration is a form of writing, too. You’ve been more productive than you’re giving yourself credit for! :-) Take care of yourself and write/draw/create on your own time. And be kind to yourself- that’s the most important thing! :-)

@SincerelyMarigold, this is most excellent! Wow! Well-done, my friend. Sadly, Real Life got in my way, and I could not write much during NaNoWriMo, which was my intent and goal. But stress, worries, and depression, despite resisting, kept me bound. I was pretty bummed out about it--missing NaNoWriMo. Since I cannot write currently, I decided I would draw in an attempt to open up my creative flow and, hopefully thereby, aid writing to move along. ✨ That is my thought process, anyway.

Friends,

Since I’m exactly one week away for sharing the first chapter of my NaNoWriMo with you, I figured I’d create another trailer for the story. It’s strange, but making videos is slowly becoming an essential part of my story planning process! I love making these so much! The video can be found here:

          https://youtu.be/DKy6-LjPfIA

I hope that you enjoy it and are as excited as I am for this new addition to my little series! :-D

          Happy reading and happy writing!

          Your friend,

Thanks, Friend! I’m so excited to share it with you all! Oh, and thank you for your kind words on my video- it means a lot to hear that my little creations are being enjoyed!!! :-D

Friends,

As some of you may know, i am participating in NaNoWriMo next month. The story that I currently have in the works is yet another Patriot fic which focuses on William and Marigold’s marriage, which I kind of glossed over in A Long and Lonely Mile. It also involves time travel back to the 1700’s, which I’m especially excited to write about, but I won’t spoil any of the fun for you!

Since it is a NaNoWriMo, I set up a little posting schedule for the month of November- the first chapter will be posted on November the 1st (Monday) and I plan on posting a new chapter each Monday that month, which will give me time to edit everything. After that, I plan on sticking to posting a chapter a week until the story is completed. Until that time, I did create a trailer for the story which can be found here:

          https://youtu.be/IfW-KLbjgrI

As always, I thank you for your continued support and am SO excited to share this new story with you! =-D

@Edorenel Oh, same here! He was born to play that role and adds so much dimension to the part, especially in the deleted scenes! Gah! I started writing my first Tavington story the second that I watched the scene where he catches fireflies! Lol! Thank you so much for giving my stories another read- I’m so happy to be continuing them at last! :-D

@SincerelyMarigold, yay!! :D I must confess *shifty eyes* I have long been a fan of William Tavington since his arrival (and Jason Isaacs an excellent actor, of course). I look forward to this! :3 After I write and submit chapter 4, I am totally going to re-read your Tavington works again.

I’m always so very excited to read your work as well!!! It’s always amazing to learn that someone enjoys your work as much as you do theirs- so thank you so much, my friend!!! :-D Yes, indeed it is THE William Tavington- if not, my own weird interpretation of the fellow. Lol!

So, I am gradually moving my work over from ff.net (where it will stay- no worries if you follow me there, too!) There are many reasons for this. I’m very fond of Wattpad and love how you can customize your stories here with a variety of media and having my fanfics co-exist with my historical fiction WIP really appeals to me. That said, I’d like to apologize in advance for the wave of notifications you are liable to receive while I do this! I am also in the process of editing my work. It’s kind of a necessary evil. But I will work quickly and try to be as... unannoying (heh) as I can be! X
