It always makes me sad that back in the 70s/80s the music industry was so homophobic and rock/metal/punk culture was hypermasculine and toxic,
Like, the amount of rockstars who were likely lgbtqia+, especially having close relationships with band members and being on the road, who were likely closeted or at least quietly bisexual, pansexual or bi-curious is so many (imo). Statistically impossible that all of them were straight (ik Steven Adler, Kirk Hammett and such are out already.) And the only people who actually really gave a damn about it were the people pulling the strings, like management, labels and PR - pushing the 'macho/ladies man' image onto rockers who were probably sensitive or not straight.
The amount of gay couples we have/potentially lost is deeply unfair and damaging to have every romantic or playful flirtation between musicians or bandmates labelled as 'shock value' or 'bro stuff' :((
