You know when you're in someone else's car and they glance at you and ask if you're okay or too cold or hot and you just smile and affirm that you're fine even if you're sweating your ass off or freezing to death
That's a lot like life; people ask if you're okay and you just smile and say "I'm fine!" even if you're burning from the inside out or your heart and emotions feel cold and numb. Even if you're slowly dying and the poison that infects you are your own thoughts, the darkness of your mind starting to suffocate you until you can't breathe — you force a smile and voice the most common lie that you're "fine"....
When all you have to do is speak up and ask them to turn down the damn heat because it's 70 fucking degrees outside. And they'll do it for you, because they really do care about how you feel. If they allowed you into their car and took the time to ask, then they do care.
