how do you plan your books?

i separate my notes into 3 sections: characters, worldbuilding, and plot. worldbuilding is typically the smallest section, and plot is typically the largest. for characters, i write out their basic info, appearance, key traits, and background, along with any special information i may have thought of. worldbuilding is the least organized, it's typically just random notes as i think of it. plot is separated into sections based on the most important moments, and then i write a general run down of what i want to happen in between. i don't always finish the plot part before i start writing the chapters and publishing, but i do like to get pretty far.
