@mhunyadi so my initial conclusion was right: the book ends without a further word on them after the siege on black thorns stronghold? Sounds like you want to keep something for the sequel: "Return to Skiathos" ;)

@SoHowAboutThisOne The "Others" are another species native to Skiathos, the traditional enemies of the Lacertions.  They are a mysterious bunch.

          It tells the story of a dynamic woman astronaut who finds something unexpected in low-Earth orbit. It goes on to change her life and the world.
          
          Hope you enjoy it. It is hard SF with realistic descriptions of life on the ISS and a plausible plot. It has been called first contact with a unique twist.
