You can call me August, but I will also be summoned by cool pond bugs and/or pictures of cats.

I'm a queer spec fic writer with a fondness for chucking characters into things they think they aren't prepared for. Most of my work is Dark Fantasy or Horror, but I cross paths with Sci-Fi, Paranormal, and Romance more often than not. 

If my books have anything in common, it's wild settings, happy endings, casual rep, and kickass disaster queers being disasters but also kickass!

In the normal world, I'm a biology-trained engineering grad student (it's complicated) who plays with words and keeps Carassius and Corixidae in outdoor aquaria. I am five years old inside. 

I wasn't kidding about the pond bugs.

While many of my characters are POC, I am white. Please extend any diversity-related opportunities to authors of colour  :)
