Silver Reign, Chapter Thirty-Two: "Burn" is out!
With that, we come to the end of Act One of the novel! It's been one hell of a journey to get here, and "Burn" closes off this section of the story with one of my favorite chapters ever
Time for a proper update on the novel, for the dozen or so if y'all who actually read these little postings.
I'm incredibly excited for Act Two, because it uses a six-month timeskip to expand the world. The next few chapters are some of the best I've ever written, and I can't wait for you all to see them!
However...
Moving forward, it must be said that things may be a little different, schedule-wise. Truth be told, finding time to write has been hard for a few months now, and so my chapter output for Act Two isn't nearly at the same speed as Act One.
As of the current moment, I have a backlog of exactly seven finished but unpublished chapters, but that number will likely decrease as weekly releases catch up to my current position.
However, with the conclusion of those chapters, I may need to switch to biweekly or unscheduled releases, simply because life has gotten in the way recently.
We'll have to wait and see.
Last, but certainly not least, is a realization I had. In its current state as a draft at 39 chapters, Silver Reign sits at roughly 100,000 words in length. In comparison, the entirety of the Amazon edition of Iron Empire was roughly 170,000 words. And Silver Reign is only about halfway finished, if that.
All this to say, Silver Reign is gonna be a two-parter. Acts one and two will occupy the first book, and the disastrous consequences of act three will make up the following novel.
I'm not certain if that means another, different name for one of the books, or if I'm just gonna publish "Silver Reign Part One" and "Silver Reign Part Two". To be determined.
Anyhow, that's my end of act update! Thank you to everyone who's stuck with Silver Reign so far.
