The moment I claim to be on a writing hiatus, the ideas will flow into my mind and I'll get so excited about something that I just have to post it, making myself look rather insincere...

Except, I'm not sure that that's what will happen. I'm a bit stuck at the moment, a bit less heads-in-the-clouds-y (and while listening to trance music helps on *that* front, I doubt you want to read post after post reiterating the same ideas, talking about staircases in dance halls or whatever the next analogy will be again and again). It's regrettable but I'm not sure it's 'help-able'. So I apologise for leaving new stories unfinished and depriving you of those awesome poems I write ( ;) ), but I hope I come back with a piece you enjoy.

          	Regards to you all,

Great(!) I couldn't post on Saturday, didn't post as much as I usually do in Lavantsa on Monday, couldn't post on Wednesday and now I can't post today. This is what happens when I supposedly 'get excited' about projects. It would hurt but maybe I should save posting until I've completely written something (although given I like writing on paper, that would take ages to type up. Ugh.). I know I have to realise that there's a life outside Wattpad, and that it's probably better to prioritise *that* one, but when life gets in the way of your passion, you gotta wonder what your lifestyle's really doing for you. :/

          Disgruntled ramble over.
          Skies out.

When I came up with my idea for the posting scedule of City of Brass and Lavantsa, I envisaged having the time to work on them in such a way as I would be able to consistently, regularly post updates on Wattpad. But the last few days have been somewhat of a roller coaster ride and I haven't had a chance to write new City of Brass stuff. As such, I can't post today. On Tuesday you can still expect a Lavantsa chapter, but till then don't expect updates to either story. Apologies for this: it was completely unforeseen and I hope you can understand.

          Regards,

Oops! It's *Monday* on which you can expect that Lavantsa update (i.e. tomorrow). This 'every other day' system might end up confusing me: maybe at some point I'll change it to three times a week (on certain days), to give me a chance to do other things in the week, but not yet. :)

City of Brass (whose title will probably be changed in the near future, due to there being a work out there in the published world with the same name) has been updated! :D Two posts again: this time the 'second half' of the first chapter.
          They start here:
          https://www.wattpad.com/457316619-city-of-brass-first-chapter-part-3-oliver

          This week, expect the following:
          - Thursday, 24/08: update(s) in Lavantsa
          - Saturday 26/08: updates in City of Brass

But hopefully I'll write other things too, like poems :)

          Hope you're enjoying my writing!
          Skies :)

I've just posted today's updates for City of Brass! (Find them in my 'Activity' feed :) )

A little explanation about the structure of the novel: I write sub-chapters in the perspective of one character, but envisage the 'whole' chapter to comprise 4 of these sub-chapters. Each post in City of Brass will represent a sub-chapter. So, what I've posted today is technically 'half of Chapter 1'. It felt to be enough to me that I wasn't cheating you, yet not so much that I'd run out of material too soon to follow my posting schedule for more than a couple of weeks. I hope you'll understand this balancing act.

          Hope you enjoy the posts!
          Skies :)

(I keep being tempted to sign off with my real name. I just know it's going to happen one day. Then the secret will be out. :L)

I just wrote a poem! (I went out for a walk in my local park, sat on a bench for a while and 'banged it out', as they would say. :L)

It's the same length as a sonnet, in iambic pentameter! Bit of an unusual rhyme scheme, but I find that if I try too hard to rhyme, my poems sound forced or cliché or just bad.

It's about the scene, where I was sitting; it's descriptive, mentions Nature and the sky (love to write stuff about skies, me :L), so if that sounds like your cup of tea, feel free to check it out! :)

Tomorrow - Friday the 18th of August - is when I'll be updating City of Brass! I have TWO pages lined up for you and I can't wait to post them, but I think it's best that I stick to my schedule so that I don't end up running out of material. (That schedule, by the way, is every two days, with alternating posts in City of Brass and Lavantsa. So, for example, this week, there'll be a City of Brass update tomorrow and a Lavantsa update on Sunday.)
If you're twiddling your thumbs and you want something else to read, why not check out the other things I've been working on?
          Namely...:
          Lavantsa:
          https://www.wattpad.com/story/119515889-lavantsa

and my translations of French poems:
          https://www.wattpad.com/story/119753653-translated-poems

Also, the City of Brass posts arriving tomorrow will not be the first! If you haven't read the prologue yet, here's a link to the main page of the story for you, from which you'll easily be able to navigate to that prologue:
          https://www.wattpad.com/story/119456247-city-of-brass

Thanks if you read absolutely any of that, and thanks if you even just read this update post!

          Hope you're all doing dandily,
          Skies x
