It’s incredibly frustrating how often these wannabe writers on Wattpad propose a genuinely interesting idea for fanfictions and what-if’s and then completely botch it all with half assed plot “twists” or fights. I’ve wasted so much time investing myself into stories only to be completely and utterly let down by the ridiculously disappointing story line later on. I miss the old days of Fanfiction.net when Fanfiction wasn’t just “Good guys when and ‘bad’ guys lose”, there was actual conflict and engaging stories. Starblade176 from Fanfiction.net, his story “Everlasting Promises” which focused on Perseus Jackson being betrayed and joining (coerced) the Hunt as its Guardian was a fantastic story. It was so fluidly written and masterfully executed, I loved everything about it. (Too bad he got whiny about his story not being ‘special’ when others took inspiration from it {If you make something people like, others are GOING to copy it and try their own versions of it. Star blade couldn’t handle that}). Anaklusmos14’s story “Child of Rome” was also fantastic, my god it was beautiful. The worldbuilding, the lore, the history between characters. There’s no passion in fanfictions anymore, it’s always. “Go stick your dick in your sister!” Or “Here’s the power of god even though you did nothing to deserve or earn this! Go save the universe and get BITCHES!”, it’s infuriating and disappointing. Please tell me I’m not the only one that remembers what Fanfiction truly is and should be?
