I find it so strange how some girls are forced to hide the fact that they aren’t fasting in front of their fathers, brothers, & and male family members. (Who are mahrems)
I also find it strange how in some cultures menstrual cycles are seen as disgusting.
My culture is pretty chill and open minded, so I never had to deal with hiding the fact that I wasn’t fasting/praying, but I feel bad for the women/girls who do.
I mean I never made it known to the world that auntie flo came to visit, but if my brothers/dad know, I never really care.
But tbh 7 daughters + my mom, my dad & brothers honestly never stood a chance against us.
But anyway,
I get that not eating in front of fasting people is a sign of respect, but you have to hide while ppl pray too??
And the fact that in some cultures you’re seen as trash during your period, not allowed to sit/enter certain places is insane.
To all the weirdos who follow this stupid tradition,
Women/Girls typically go through menstrual cycles that we CANNOT control.
In Islam, our menstrual cycles are kind of like our break time, when we rest, so yeah, let your daughter eat her damn food during Ramadan.
Yes menstrual blood is impure, but so is the blood flowing through our body.
As a woman & someone who is health major, this taboo around periods has to stop.
No girl really wants their period, but guess what?
We don’t have a choice.
& just remember girls,
Be happy, eat your food, & DON’T EVER listen to a dude. (When it comes to your period lol)
