What if I posted a “book” cataloging all the deaths in Merlin? Hmm… I’ve already started keeping track…

SherlockedNarnian

Wattpad…
Why are you making it so difficult to center text? I’ve double-spaced and highlighted the part I want to be centered to make it as clear as possible. So why do you keep making the paragraphs before & after also centered? And why, after I get it all fixed and Saved, do you keep un-centering it?!

SherlockedNarnian

@stxmoras It was getting on my nerves today. I about chucked by phone across the room… I’ll probably have to get on my computer to fix it at this point…

@SherlockedNarnian I feel that! The formatting I want always gets messed up when I publish.

Question… When I do rewrites for book 4, should I just cut all the chapters pertaining to Last Battle? I mean… Ana’s not really in them until the last part and it’s told from another person’s POV. I’d probably keep those pertaining to The Silver Chair (even though it’s technically a different POV as well) since she is mentioned by the other characters. But I’m not sure if there’s any point in retelling the events of LB if Ana’s not even there. It would make the book significantly shorter though.

So should I just delete them and fast forward to the end where they’re all reunited? Or keep it in? If I delete it… there is the possibility of me focusing more on Ana/Caspian pre-Silver Chair. Maybe before Rilian or as they’re raising him.

          Thoughts?

@SherlockedNarnian ok then will wait for it but not too long ☺️

@EvangelineLilian It might be something I postpone a little. In terms of like just leaving the original up until I have stuff to add to it…

Wattpad needs to have a way for people to co-write a book. I started a story with someone but they primarily write on Wattpad and haven’t checked the Doc in months. But if we could co-write on here, the story might progress a little faster…

@Tea_With_Christ I have an account on that site as well. :) And I have co-wrote stories there but the person I’m currently trying to write with, doesn’t write anywhere else. Thanks for the suggestion though!

@SherlockedNarnian A website I use to write books, fanfiction, is this website called Quotev, you can have as many authors as you want, in your case for two people to co-write a book.

            Link: https://www.quotev.com/

But yes that would be cool to have on wattpad.

Merry Christmas everyone ! Hope you’ve all had an amazing and awesome day!

I wish I had something written for all of you as a gift, but I just haven’t been able to write. Hope to have something finished/updates by the New Year, but we will see.

It was brought to my attention that a story on Wattpad has an OC that is similar to mine. They also have the same title (not a big deal or anything) but the description made it sound like it was my story after I had done the rewrites. When they started reading it, they noticed some similarities between their OC and Ana. Now I haven’t read the story or spoken with the author as I’m not sure if I should concern myself with it. But the similarities she has noticed thus far are:

          1. The main character is referred to as “Phoenix/The Phoenix” and “warrior” by other characters
          2. She supposedly has “the powers of the phoenix” which means she can control/do things related to fire. (But since there are a lot of fire-related creatures/things that doesn’t mean she has “phoenix powers,” imo). However, there have been hints that she can transform into a phoenix or smth (which would be copying from my character)
          3. She is a phoenix, warrior, archer and protector/guardian to the Narnians
          4. She has auburn hair and is an archer that never misses
          5. The prophecy is apparently similar (she has her powers to be a protector/guardian)
          6. She is a human living in Narnia under the Witch’s rule (though her circumstances are different from Ana’s)

Again, I have not talked to the author or read the book. (I skimmed a few chapters and what I saw made it seem like they expanded my OC and made her overpowered). I’m simply wondering if I should. Is there enough similarities to think she got the idea for the character from me? Do I have a right to say anything? I won’t share a link to the story/author because I don’t want to cause issues with them. I would just like some advice from all of you.

I don’t care about any similarities from the actual plot because my stories were based directly from the movies. I’m more concerned about similarities between the OCs.

As an aside: Please do not take someone else’s idea/characters and claim them as your own. If you get inspired by their character/story at least ask before using any likeness to it. And you should at least mention in your story that you got the inspiration from someone else.
