And thoughts are often spoken 
The words we speak become expressions 
Of the emotions that we feel

If we feel something 
That cannot be defined 
Or even understood 
Why don't we try to define it?

Thoughts from an experience 
Become words we speak
Which leads to words on a page 
Which we wrote because we feel

We feel the emotions we so thoroughly describe  
Each painful and blissful word
Each knife through our hearts
It's a wonder we don't fall apart
