I shared a new addition called strong black woman, this poem, albeit short, is a personal one and an affirmation I wish I could tell every single black woman/girl. You deserve to be vulnerable, to not always have to have the answer, you are allowed to rely on others, it doesn't make you weak <3

Oops! I added another poem to For the Sun of your Skin. It's something about going through my poetry journal at 1am that makes me want to share. This one is called 'of prayers and magic' and funnily enough, it actually wasn't supposed to be a poem, it was meant to be a message/reminder to myself.

@CynthiaDagnal-Myron It is my honour to show support, especially to stories with diverse and nuanced perspectives. I look forward to reading it, the premise of the story sounds fascinating though non-fantasy is not my usual kind of read but I was still drawn. I wish you luck!

Hey my Empresses, I updated Empress of Fire and Ash. I know it has been a while and I would like to apologise but my exams have demanded my every waking moment, but as of today I am officially a free woman. Expect WAY more frequent updates during the holiday season (I pinky promise). Check out the new chapter and let me know what you think, and as always the stakes are as high as ever.

I published a poem in the collection for the sun of your skin titled from the river to the sea. It is inspired by the following quote by Kwame Ture “There's a difference between peace and liberation. You can have peace and injustice. Peace isn't the answer. Liberation is the answer." It is a reminder to all who should come across it and most of all a reminder and a promise to myself to never forget what is happening, to not let myself get lulled into a false sense of safety and forgetfulness. Peace and liberation are not the same thing and we must never give up until all are truly free. These words have been burning in me the past two weeks as I sat glued to my screen, mourning lives I did not know before I witnessed their death, it is born of the grief as I watched families have to share their greatest losses with total strangers like me and you so that they can illicit some small human response from us. We need to deserve better, those suffering in the world deserve better from us.

"later that night, I held an atlas in my lap, ran my fingers across the whole world and whispered where does it hurt? It answered: everywhere, everywhere, everywhere" Warsan Shire.

I can't even find the words to describe what is happening in the world right now, from Palestine, to Congo to Sudan and to all the other countries that are on fire. I stand with freedom everywhere, the removal of all shackles, from all the corners of this wretched world. I stand with humanity, with the protection of the sacredness of life. Everything, everywhere is linked, to get rid of the shackles that have been placed over us we must realise that we need liberation everywhere. Liberation in one place is not enough, the subjugation of life in one part of the world, means the devaluing of all life everywhere. We are one so why does media want us to only remember that when it comes to Ukraine but be blind to the cries of the victim when it comes from anywhere but the West. We cannot forget about what is happening in the rest of the world, we cannot allow our privilege and greed to blind us. We cannot allow the individualistic mindset the West wants to instil in us to prevail because all it does it line their dirty, dirty blood-stained pockets. I don't call for a ceasefire for what is happening in Palestine, I call for liberation. As better said by Kwame Ture: “There's a difference between peace and liberation. You can have peace and injustice. Peace isn't the answer. Liberation is the answer."

A whole lotta of ifs Anyway check it out and let me know what you think <3
