Bood Impulse is truly the best sci-fi story I have read on this platform. And I can say that it is on the same level as works like shards of earth, wich is my favorit book in the sci-fy genre! Please keep on writing! Oh and may the angel watch over you. :)

@Bvfzxfu3dg All great choices! Thanks for the insight! Havermeyer is a popular pick. I'm trying to show more of him and how his Tech Monk background fits into the greater world. Zarrey is fun. Hoping he gets a chance to shine on his own. Zarrey has skills the Admiral lacks, though Zarrey himself might not realize that fact. The Admiral is probably my favorite (hence why we have so much of his perspective). He's fun to write for, 99% cranky and not wanting to be involved then 1% about to mess someone up for treating his ship and crew poorly. He is absolutely not wanting to be any variety of hero to the worlds, but also won't simply abandon his responsibilities, so you have a very good read on him. As for the Angel, you're correct! Gives could absolutely be in a significantly more powerful position than he is, but he chose to seal away the Angel's full power to prevent her abuse. Of course, you could argue this action made him more powerful in other ways, since it earned him the Angel's loyalty, and even without her main weapon, she's incredibly powerful. Amidst many of the dark situations Blood Impulse's universe has, their relationship is fairly wholesome.

@ SRCraven favorite characters would probably be Havermeyer, Zarrey, the Admiral and of course the Angel Havermeyer because of how he is always calm and because I find the religion you created for him very cool. Zarrey because of his honesty in knowing very well that he will never be as good as Gives, but still doing his best in fullfilling his purpose. The Admiral I like not cause he is badass (which he sometimes is), but because you captured a tiredness in him that stems from pushing on not because you want to but because you must. He is not the great hero or saint that will save everyone, he himself has given up on the worlds, but the angel hasn't and is still trying to protect the crew and maybe even humanity. Now the Angel is I think a genius idea of yours with wich you also solved countless problems other stories have. You made it feasable that the Admiral was in the position of power he is in, you also mad him not over powered as he gave up her main weapon as I understand it. And there is also no one who is inherently stronger than him due to him giving up the power. It's just genius! To tell you my favorite scenes I will have to at least scim the book a second time!

@Bvfzxfu3dg Thank you! It is exceptionally high praise to be compared to the likes of Tchaikovsky! There is much, much more of Blood Impulse to come. I'm actively working on the next few chapters, hoping to get at least one out in the next week. If I may ask, who are your favorite characters and do you have any favorite scenes?
