You can be straight and not date trans people based on a genital preference. You cannot say no to a trans person because they are trans. If someone asks you out and you say yes, and then they tell you that they are trans, go out with them for one date. Do not say "Daaaang! You look REAL!! I'm so sorry, but I can't go out with a (assigned sex)." That is impolite, and comes across as transphobic.
