What is #SmartGirlsMatter on Wattpad?
Project Smart Girls was created on August 14th by a Wattpad user to highlight the many issues in fiction- 'nerdy' or smart girls immediately ditching their consciences and/or grades for the purpose of meeting a (usually mistreating) boyfriend. The reason #SmartGirlsMatter was started was to show that girls don't have to abandon themselves to find romance along the way.
You can help our cause by tagging your story #SmartGirlsMatter or by following our account. You can also enter any contests set up by us in the future. Our goals on Wattpad are getting "good girl" protagonists who remain that way and to change a few authors' minds on the personas that they are setting to their characters.
