Is it just me, or is Wattpad dying? I’m slowly watching books get deleted instead of updated, and authors disappearing without a trace.
I’m watching friends stop responding to messages, and readers stop commenting as they stop reading.
Wattpad is dying a slow death, and there’s nothing I can do about it. I have been on Wattpad for 4 years now, and it was my home. As a high school freshman I was writing 2 books a week, each with 1,000+ words a chapter. Now as a college freshman, I struggle to get chapters out on a constant basis.
Wattpad is growing up. Those children who were always on the app when they were younger and now grown up and in the real world. We can’t be there anymore, and the new generation is more interested in video games than in reading and writing.
As we begin to disappear, there is no one there to replace us.
Wattpad is dying a slow and inevitable death. And that’s what brings me to tears.

...I’m a high school freshman — going into tenth, and I can say that wattpad is still thriving. It’s more rare to find an adult than it is a teen, and I think wattpad is still very much alive.
Of course new things have entered our minds the last few years, but I really love wattpad. I do agree though, authors are deleting stories, and people have become inactive, but I’m hoping it’s just a shift; a good shift. Authors leave, authors come — I’m hoping that we continue this cycle and not die off.
I really don’t want wattpad to disappear, it’s an amazing app (or website) and I hope it continues to advance and grow. People get busy, and sometimes the app becomes irrelevant when compared to everyday priorities. We can’t do anything about growing up — earning new responsibilities and loosing time is something we can’t change.
Now I’m sad. I don’t want wattpad to leave, STAY.

I can’t be the only one who hates this new beta program???? I’m a college student who can barely find where their next meal is coming from, I don’t have money to be spending on reading books. I came to Wattpad because it was free, and because it was a place I could both publish and read. I’m slowly losing my faith in Wattpad as a whole, because they’re now in it for money. I understand that writers deserve money for their hard work, but charging readers isn’t the way for it to be.

The final chapter of Little Marks goes out tomorrow! I know this book was a little short-lived compared to the previous book, but I feel really complete with the way this story lasted a year in their world.
