@Phoenix_4286 You can just tell them that you’re not ready to start right now, but if they don’t mind, you’d still like to have all the information so you can think about it properly and maybe start in the future. I don’t think that’s rude at all 😭 You’re not promising them anything, you’re just being honest that you need some time before you’re ready. That way you have all the information you need, and when you actually feel ready, you can come back to it without having to figure everything out from scratch.

And honestly, I don’t think you’d want that kind of pressure on yourself, and I wouldn’t want you to have it either. I feel like it could get really stressful for you. I’m a very paranoid person, so my brain is already going “BUT WHAT IF THIS HAPPENS??” 😭
@Phoenix_4286 I think you should just tell them that you'd like to wait for now. And honestly, keeping in touch with them wouldn't change anything, in my opinion. You can still stay in touch, write a few more chapters, and then maybe after some days ask them questions about the whole process and what exactly they have in mind. That way you're still keeping in touch and getting more information without getting too close or committing to anything yet. And please don't disclose any personal information right now, okay? Just keep things about the story and the comic for now. You can tell them that you're interested in the idea, but you don't want to do anything right now and would rather wait until you're more ready. Take your time, ask questions, and see how everything goes first.

Even the thought of adapting a story into a whole comic is a lot on its own, and I feel like you already have enough on your plate with finishing the actual story. Personally, I'd finish the story first and only then start thinking about an adaptation. And even after that, I'd take A LOT of time to think about it, ask questions, understand exactly what they have in mind, and see how everything would actually work. I don't think you need to decide anything right now. Just take your time and think about it properly. Obviously, it's completely up to you, but that's what I'd personally do.

I think you can just tell them that you're not ready for it right now, and that you'd like to finish your story first and then give the idea some proper thought. You can always come back to it later once you know exactly what you want. But again, it's completely up to you!! Personally, I'd suggest finishing the story first and then thinking about any of this.
