Pete Stubbs was born in central Africa in 1957, joined the military at seventeen, survived a civil war, then moved to Canada. He worked in a lumber camp, later flew as a bush pilot in British Columbia and the Arctic and finally flew a Learjet extensively to the end of his career. He has been involved in many projects from cartooning, to building an ocean-going yacht, and to touring North America by motorcycle. Presently he works as a safety consultant based in Vancouver, and writes under the name Pete Stubbs, a pseudonym he used once working for a debt collection agency. He has two teenage children, one of whom can remember his name.
