Parents play an essential part in making us into the people we are today and will be in the future. 

So why is it that they rarely make an appearance in our stories? 

We are here to try and change that.

@ParentsAppreciation is a movement to promote the importance of parents in the life of a young protagonist. We are here not only to encourage the placement of parents in our stories, but to also have them play an important part in them. Maybe they help your main character with the drama they're going though. Maybe the parents don't approve of the MC's significant other. Maybe they give a key piece of advice, or encouragement that the protagonist will need to complete their goal. 
The parents don't need to be the best parents in the world. They just need to be somewhat involved in the MC's life, and to be trying their best to be the parent their kid needs.
