why do wattpad writers love to romanticize sexual assault and rape? it’s different if you’re writing a mystery, mafia, murder, or horror book or a fanfic for something like riverdale or thirteen reasons why but if you’re writing for like... a kpop group or haikyuu and you include it... please do your research??? they aren’t fine a few weeks later? they’ll feel phantom touches and it will affect their romantic and sexual life for the remainder of their life. it can drive them insane or make them into a completely different person. it can push people to self harm or suicide. do not just use it as something where the love interest in the book can comfort you because chances are, you don’t want to be touched. it’s likely you even want to leave the comfort of your own bedroom and you definitely don’t want to be around the gender or sex of the person that did all that to you. after it happened to me i couldn’t even be in the same room as my own grandfather and i didn’t leave my bedroom for three months. it affected me so much that the monday after it happened i cried so hard that i puked in the school parking lot and they had to come and get me to bring me home. it affects your point of view on everything, it’s not something you brush over as “relationship development”
