Enigma O'Dell

This world is inhabited by beings similar to humans, save they are around three inches tall. They make up for this fact in a variety of ways. Most have greater strength than a human would that size, some have reflexes faster than a striking snake, or incredible agility. Most can learn magic. 
	In addition, there are Elementals; magical creatures that vary greatly in size, appearance, temperament, and intelligence. An elemental is powered by or fed by its element; some examples include storm elementals that ride the high winds and have power over lightning, rain or wind. In addition to being fed by proximity to their element, they also have control over that element. 
	Shapes can include just about anything, though only a few are shapeshifters. Humanoid, animals, dragons, or unrecognizable, though they are generally composed of their element or elements. Hybrids are possible. Because they are powered through proximity and quantity of their element, you will not see a flying earth elemental, or similar.
	Some are capable of speech. Most of the lesser/animalistic ones are not; they could once be controlled through a combination of conventional means and magic by those who studied that branch of magic.
	Most elementals grow stronger with age, and some grow stronger through absorbing other elementals; only a few can absorb elementals, not of the same type. Some can grow dormant, often after attaining a great age. 
They can act as power sources and may be contained or forged into a new form. Legendary weapons were often forged from the remaining energy of a dormant elemental. It is considered wicked to trap a conscious elemental purely as a power source; that said, some dangerous elementals have been forced into confinement, but not as weapons as an elemental can refuse to give power. Trapped living elementals are usually forced to give power, frequently through some form of magical torture.
