Greetings all, I've decided to start publishing my stories on Substack, only because I think Wattpad leans heavily towards teenage romance which is not one of my favorite genres. So, I need to build an audience. I have no intention of asking for paid subscriptions so it will remain free (although I'm not above begging for a small donation to supplement my meagre pension!). Hey all. I had some discussion with Wattpad HQ last year about adding a category for screenplays. My suggestion was to publish a pitch with a link to the full script. They said they'd look into it, but they seem to have lost interest. So! I decided to go it alone and publish an example for feedback. @MattMacBride Hi Matt. What a cool idea. I think your approach works. There are slightly different aspects of the overall story revealed in the YT pitch and the full synopsis, which makes it a rich presentation. The story idea has been captured and made captivating in the small space you've allowed yourself. I'd say it's about right. The story idea itself sounds both lovely and very poignant. I don't know anything about screenwriting or filmmaking, but I can see it working beautifully. x
