I'm the author of the Globe and Mail bestseller MATING FOR LIFE (Atria Books/Simon & Schuster Canada), and the forthcoming THINGS TO DO WHEN IT'S RAINING (2017, Simon & Schuster Canada). MATING FOR LIFE has been described as "An absolute feat of storytelling" (Grace O'Connell, bestselling author, MAGNIFIED WORLD), "A sensitive, timely, and compassionate exploration of family, friendship, self-discovery, and the issue perhaps more at the crux of modern womanhood than any other--the struggle to keep hold of who you are while letting love in."(Abigail Tarttelin, GOLDEN BOY); "One of the most charming novels I've read in years." (Jennifer Close, New York Times bestselling author, GIRLS IN WHITE DRESSES); and "acute and richly moving;" (Beatriz Williams, New York Times bestselling author, A HUNDRED SUMMERS.) When I read reviews like this, I still think, 'Who, me?"
I grew up in a small town outside of Toronto and now live in the city with my husband and two small children. I love to read--that probably goes without saying, doesn't it?--and I also love to write in my trusty notebook, go on long walks and do yoga. In addition to my fiction, I'm a National Magazine Award nominated journalist, and I write Shelf Love, a commercial fiction review column, for the Globe and Mail. I also teach writing workshops and provide author mentoring to a limited number of students each year. I wish I could "follow for follow" or take reading requests at this time but I can't - SORRY! #amwriting
