The first book I ever read by light of a flashlight at 1:00 AM on a school night was The Golden Compass. I remembering taking thirty seconds to turn the page to ensure that my parents were unable to hear my clandestine reading. While I have now grown up and can happily read at any time, without fear of someone berating me, I still have not grown out of the habit of reading far too late into the night. As an self-proclaimed binge reader, I thought I would try my hand at writing.
