I started writing short stories during lockdown - no doubt like many people - with the purpose of organising my thoughts and trying to understand them a little better. 

My first flash story, 'Crash Test Dummy', was published in Daily Science Fiction in September 2020. That gave me the kick up the arse I needed to continue writing, and I'm still enjoying it. So I'm sharing more work on Wattpad to maintain the momentum and see where it leads. 

I've been voraciously catching up on sci-fi, revisiting old favourites such as Clarke and Asimov, and discovering classics such as 'The Death of Grass' by John Christopher. I'm also reading contemporary dystopian novels such as McCarthy's 'The Road', Atwood's 'Oryx and Crake', and David Ely's 'Diary of the Flood Year.'
