It is a boyxboy or Gay book with lots of pride i just finished reading it and am not disappointed I have never felt as close to a character before the description Benjamin Alire Saenz used had been written down like this:

Sometimes the book is a little funny but most of the time describing this edge boy named Aristotle Mendoza. When it is funny it is often when Dante has his little war against shoes. It is a prideful book tells the tale of the life of Aristotle Mendoza and Dante Quintana. Each day something always happens for the better or the worst. These two boys are from El Paso, Texas in 1987 so you get to learn what it's like to live back then
