The first 5 chapters of 'From the Ashes' are coming back to Wattpad! I checked with Amazon and they've explained that a small sample (not exceeding 10%) of a book that's in KDP Select will not violate the exclusivity clause. So, over the next few days I'll be reposting a the first few chapters as a sample of the book for those that might have missed it the first time around.

Book two of the 'Guilded Kingdoms' series is underway! Once I have enough chapter drafts written for it I'll be starting to serialize them on Patreon before making them publicly available here on Wattpad and on Royal Road. Currently, I'm four chapters and 11.6K words into the second book.

If you're looking for "From the Ashes," all chapter drafts have been removed in preparation for release to Amazon and Kindle Unlimited! More release information to come. Also, book two of Guilded Kingdoms is in the works and chapter drafts will be made available after I have started sharing them to Patreon and have built up a large enough chapter backlog.

The cover art is done and a tentative release date has been set for "From the Ashes"! Unless something comes up to cause me to push it back, I'll be publishing to Amazon on November 1. Which means I will soon be removing the chapter drafts from Wattpad, Royall Road, and Patreon as I will be putting it into Kindle Unlimited.

Things are getting exciting! I've been working on the formatting for the paperback version of "From the Ashes" and am getting very, very close to finishing it! Of course, I probably would be finished with it by now except that I went and made things harder on myself. How? Well, when I painted my maps I completely forgot to consider greyscale values and so they really only look right in colour. So, thinking I'd have a bit of fun with it since I have to go with colour interior printing anyway, I decided to add some 'simple' illustrations. Yeah, that's been loads more work, but oooooh does it look nice! Anyways, once I have the paperback formatting done I'll finally be able to calculate the spine width for the cover and can get started on painting that before moving on to the ebook formatting and last few details for final publication. So, still a bit of time yet, but, right now, it's looking like a late autumn/early winter release instead of the late summer/early autumn release I'd been aiming for. Once I have a more exact timeline though I'll let you all know as everything will have to come down from here, Royal Road, and Patreon prior to release as it will be going into Kindle Unlimited. Don't worry though, I will give you as much advanced warning as possible in case you've not finished reading the draft form and would like to.

First of all, woohoo!! One of my books is finished and on to editing! Not the one I'm resurrecting, but another that I've been working on. Also, I have created a monstrosity . Final pre-editing word count is 171,193 and, thus far, my books have only ever gotten larger not smaller during editing .

So, with the book actually finished and pre-publication prep about to start, I'm going to be reviewing my chapter draft release schedule across the different platforms I've been sharing 'From the Ashes' on and comparing it with my release goal for Amazon. My intention is to put the book into Kindle Unlimited when I launch the finalized version, so I want to make sure I give plenty of time for everyone to finish reading the completed pre-edited version before it has to come down (I will make sure to give plenty of advanced warning of when that will be once I have an actual release date!) This means I may be increasing the number of chapters I release per week.

Which brings me to a question: how many chapters per week do you generally like to see?

I'm back and all caught up on the missed chapters! Regular posting schedule resumes next week! Also some exciting news, I think I only have about 15% or so left to write before I can get this book into editing and start prepping for final publication. Still not sure when that will be other than sometime this year, but, one thing I do know is this book is going to be a big one! Currently working on chapter 42.
