I just wanted to say I am loving your books. I feel so stupid that I only started reading yours books today- they are awesome! I’ve already read Passing the Torch, Burying the Hatchet and Perturbed Kind. I just started Grimm Games and finished reading the last free chapter. I’m loving it. All of your characters, plots (and plot twists) and just everything is so well thought out. Like I said, I feel so ashamed I didn’t read your stuff sooner.

          I love your cliffhangers too.

LadyMArachnid

I definitely will! And I’m sorry you were doubting yourself. You shouldn’t! Your writing is amazing. Even if people don’t say it, I’m sure a lot are thinking it.

Hi there! I’m a manager for an event hosted in the Dreamland Community Discord server called Write That Sentence. I just wanted to let you know that your book was used for this event where players are given the blurb of a book and try to guess its real first sentence. They’ll write what they think could be the opening line, and then everyone guesses which one is real.

Only the first sentence of your story and its blurb are shared, and everything stays within the game.

If you’d like to see what people came up with or just check it out, you’re more than welcome to join the server! I can provide the link, if you like.

No pressure at all — I just wanted to be transparent and let you know!

Hi, I'm a huge fan of your work! I really enjoyed Tattered Paige especially - will you be bringing out the second book at all? I can't wait to read more.

LLSanders

@LD2601 Thank you so much! It means a lot. ♥️

@LLSanders oh that’s a shame, I do hope you can come back to it sometime, it was one of the best stories I have read on here :) knowing the inspiration behind it as well I just want to say I am sorry for your loss. Good luck with your other projects - I did binge read some of your other work too I must admit.

@LD2601 Hello! Makes me happy to know you enjoyed Tattered Paige. That story means a lot to me. Unfortunately the second book only made it to 7 chapters before I had to stop writing it and work on another story. So the story is currently incomplete, and will probably remain that way for the foreseeable future. Hopefully you discover some of my other novels on my profile you’ll really enjoy as well. :) Thanks for reading Tattered Paige! So happy you enjoyed it.✨

I’ve gotten many comments from some who have read the blurb to Grimm Games and mistakenly concluded it’s just The Hunger Games. False. It is indeed inspired by Hunger Games, Squid Game, Battle Royale and other “deadly games” tropes, but the only thing is has in common with these stories are the deadly games.

Kam’s goal is to save her sister and that’s where the similarities to Katniss begin and ends.

“Deadly Games” is a dystopian trope found in battle royale stories and that’s the category/trope/genre Grimm Games fall in. Forced to battle in a competition where death is an option/objective.

“Grimm” comes from the Grimm Brothers fairy tales, like Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, and creatures like Big Bad Wolves, Witches, Trolls, etc. Hinting at what you’ll find in Grimm Games.

So, if you enjoy the deadly games trope and Grimm fairy tale monsters, along with Black, powerful female leads, then you will enjoy Grimm Games! ✨

Is the inspiration for grimm games also from the tv series Grimm.

LucaFraiser

@LucaFraiser Not to be a critic, but Grimm is one of my favorite tv series, I watch it from beginning to end every year. So bring it on!!I would love to read your book !!!

LLSanders

@LucaFraiser Hello! No. Not directly, but it does incorporates the Grimm Brothers fairy tale creatures, hence the title ‘Grimm’ Games. It’s the battle royale trope from The Hunger Games and Squid Game meets Grimm fairytale entities. I hope I make sense. Lol. Thanks for asking! And please enjoy. ✨

Is it just a coincidence that over a year ago I chose to write about a gay Black female activist battling both a dystopian society obsessed with glorified violence and the horrific monsters we all recognize?

          Hmm. I think not.

@spooder_gurlll Have you read it? Or only the blurb? The only thing in common with Hunger Games is the battle royale part. Deadly games is a dystopian trope that many in the category have in common. Grimm Games is an original story from my imagination, and in the first chapter and definitely by the last chapter you will see it not a copy of Hunger Games. But if you like Hunger Games, Squid Games and Fairy tale monsters from Grimm brothers tale, you like Grimm Games.
