@ddo11face hi! :) i Dont mind, don’t worry!
So, I currently identify (it may change who knows) as a panromantic heterosexual. This label comes from the idea of cross attraction, which was made mainly for ace and aro people to identify themselves but can extend to others.
Essentially, cross attraction splits attraction into two kinds: romantic attraction (like crushing on them and wanting to marry them or be with them) vs. sexual attraction, which is pretty self explanatory. Most people have their romantic and sexual attraction come hand in hand, but I’m one of the exceptions.
Growing up, I would have all these crushes on all sorts of people, and a good chunk of them were girls (tho I didn’t realize that at the time). Still, for the longest time I just assumed I was straight. Even after I discovered the Bi label, I had a hard time identifying w it bc I couldn’t really imagine having sex with a Girl, as much as I tried to.
After reading about cross attraction, I was able to categorize myself as romantically attracted to pretty much everyone but only sexually attracted to men. As to how it affects my dating life, I’ve only dated guys so far but I’m open to dating women, nb, and demi people in the future. Hope that helps!
