I was born and raised in Adelaide, where I've lived most of my life, apart from two years in Sydney in the early 1980s and eleven years in London in the 1980s and early 90's. I went to university later in life and earned my PhD in Professional Writing and Communication after seven and a half years of full-time study.  I wrote 'The Diary of Jeremy Prior' as part of my thesis, and have since developed it further. I have a son who also writes, no pets, and an unusual skin condition (actually, I made that bit up; my skin is perfectly normal for a man my age!). I am also an academic, a songwriter and actor; guess which one of these actually puts food on the table. Go on; guess.
