I have four rules of writing.

1) There is no such thing as someone who "wants to be a writer". You either are, or you aren't. If you don't write, or aren't writing anything, you are not a writer. True writers don't say "I'm not working on anything right now."
2) There are good writers, and then there are good storytellers. The two are not mutually exclusive. You can be a great writer, but a terrible storyteller, and it won't get you far (unless schools buy your books to torture people). And you can be a great storyteller, but a terrible writer. And nobody is going to buy those books. The excellent writers are the ones that can write and tell a story well.
3) If all your characters are happy for more than one chapter, you're doing it wrong.
4) I read to be emotionally crushed. To have moments when I want to throw the book up against the wall in rage. If a book doesn't give me those moments, I come out feeling cheated. HURT YOUR READER.

I'm an 18 year old writer seeking to revamp and almost entirely change young adult fiction, more specifically fantasy. My current work, 'A Brother's Curse' seeks to be far more gritty and dark than modern fantasy and sci-fi for teens. Keeping love and romance far from the central concerns of the text.
Of course, it's a work in progress. It is currently 55k words long, but there is still much to go.
If I've got you interested, check out my sample chapter, or my Facebook page.

Oh wait-what? This section is titled "About", suggesting about me, rather than my book? Okay, fine.

I'm currently doing Year 12 in school, with exams approaching rapidly. Once that is over, I'm going to write, read, and play video games. That's my form of partying. Oh, and play Dungeons and Dragons.
I support the Richmond Football Club (that's right, I'm Australian. No, The Sword Coast is not a real place in Australia) and cry every time we lose an elimination final.

Well that's my character limit gone. I have killed more characters than GRRM.
