I spent much of my childhood immersed in books, using them as a gateway to explore the world beyond my own surroundings. 
In my teenage years I discovered poetry, both reading and writing it, and participated in many a slam poetry contest were I found a genuine love for sharing my voice. Guided by curiosity and a desire to touch lives, I joined the United States Air Force, embracing every opportunity to explore, learn, and serve. 

Today, I continue to weave purpose and passion into my life by serving on the board of directors for a homeless shelter, speaking on behalf of children facing cancer, and sharing my reflections and stories as an author.
