Silverbound sneak peak:

Percy felt his breath hitch. "Become one of you? Tied to this place? A creature like them? Like you?"

The Whistling Man said nothing at first. Instead, he turned his face back toward the ancient blackened tree. The bark of the tree swelled and pulsed, exhaling a breath that smelled of earth, rot, and old sorrow. The faces carved into it twitched and whispered in broken fragments, as if caught between screaming and praying.

Percy’s grip on Riptide was a lifeline. His instincts screamed at him to run, but he held his ground.

"Do you think them monsters?" the Whistling Man finally asked, his voice low and distant. "They were men once. Women. Children. Hungry. Cold. Desperate. Survival became their prayer. And the forest answered."

Around them, the mist thickened. Skinwalkers moved within it, circling silently. Their eyes glimmered faintly—some red, others yellow, some disturbingly human-like. A thin, emaciated walker crept close to Percy, bare feet barely brushing the ground. Its claws were bloodstained, but its gaze was not hostile. It simply watched.

Percy looked at the Whistling Man, then back to the creature.

"I didn’t come here to lose myself," he said quietly. "I came to help. I want to understand. But my priority is Artemis. And the Hunters. They’re my family. I won’t abandon them."

The tree groaned behind the Whistling Man. The whispers grew louder. Percy could hear his name—no, not just his name, something deeper. A version of it spoken in a language older than words.

"What happens once it knows my soul’s name?" Percy asked. His voice trembled.

The Whistling Man turned his pale face toward him. "It will remember you. It will recognize you. And it will offer you its knowledge. Its power. But it will never let you go completely."

What do you think??? Part 2 of the sneak preview is in the comments

@Irish_Wolves A skinwalker—larger than the others, with empty sockets where eyes once were—approached. It knelt before Percy. Shakily, it extended a clawed hand. Percy took a deep breath and placed a final piece of meat into its palm.

The creature raised the meat to its face but paused. Slowly, it lowered it, then pressed it to the ground before Percy’s feet like an offering.

          	  Percy’s breath caught.

The Whistling Man stepped closer. "It remembers. A brother. A son. A boy with a blade and a brave heart. Not you. But close enough."

The creature stood and backed away, leaving the meat untouched. It vanished into the mist.

The whispers from the tree turned frenzied, the wind circling them now cold and sharp. The bark wept black sap.

"You see now why I called you," the Whistling Man said. "There is a choice coming. Your family or the cursed. The world or this forest. You cannot hold both forever."

Percy rose to his feet, heart pounding. He looked toward the blackened tree, toward the watchers in the dark, then back at the Whistling Man.

His voice, when it came, was steady and resolute.

"My family comes first. But I’m not giving up on any of you. I will not choose either. I choose both."

A skinwalker brushed against his leg, like a dog greeting its human. Its breath was ragged, but there was no malice.

"Do not ask me to choose either," Percy said firmly. "Because I never will. Helping you is a priority. But my family is my main priority. I want to help you, and I will—but I will kill you if it means defending those I love."

The forest seemed to go still. The wind stopped. Even the tree paused its whispering.

The Whistling Man gave a slow, deep nod. "Then you are more dangerous than I feared. Or hoped."

Percy stepped back again. "I want to free them from this... whatever this is. But I’m not going to give up who I am. I can’t."

Another skinwalker crept forward, crawling like a wounded animal. It paused a few feet from Percy, tilting its head like a curious dog.

Percy hesitated, heart pounding. Slowly, he knelt in front of it, eyes never leaving its gaunt face. With a shaky hand, he reached into his Hestia-blessed satchel.

He pulled out a package of raw steak—red and fresh, untouched by time. The skinwalker flinched but didn’t flee. Percy unwrapped it, holding it out.

The creature sniffed, jaw twitching. Then, with startling speed, it lunged snatching the meat. It devoured it in seconds, snarling softly as it ate.

More followed. Two. Four. Seven. Silent, slinking shapes emerged from the trees. Percy kept his movements slow and deliberate.

One hesitated before gently taking the food from his hand. Another sniffed his wrist, then leaned in as if to listen to his pulse.

The Whistling Man said nothing. He stood beneath the tree, watching with unreadable eyes.

          	  "They’re starving," Percy whispered.

The tree above shuddered. Its branches twisted like skeletal fingers reaching down.

"They remember what it means to be fed without killing," the Whistling Man murmured. "That is dangerous to the curse. Dangerous to the forest."

Percy looked up at him, a flicker of defiance in his eyes. "Then maybe that’s how it breaks. One moment of kindness at a time."

Hey since you can’t republish your other works on here can you put them on Ao3 since you already have some of your works on there already? I just really miss Champions
I completely understand if you don’t want to or can’t for some reason though!

Amethyst_Myst

@Royalcookie112 Sweet! Probably should've been obvious, but I'm a little hollow up north. :>

I just terrified myself. I'm writing a new fanfic and I was busy doing a scene where Percy, Leo and the Stolls build 21 Annabelle dolls as a prank, but I made them sentient. And now its gotten out of hand lol:

Another doll passed by Artemis' legs. She froze. The doll looked up at her with unblinking glass eyes.

"You won’t take them from us," it whispered.

Did it just threaten you? Dionysus asked, bewildered.

They all threatened me,Artemis replied darkly.

Burn the bunker, Ares said flatly. Now.

I second that, Hera added. We cannot allow this to spread.

A doll next to Percy lifted its head.

"They want to take you away," it hissed.

Percy rubbed its back soothingly. "Nah. They wouldn’t do that."

          Artemis stared, unnerved.

"You will not separate us," the dolls whispered in chorus. "We are one."

One of the dolls looked directly at Artemis, voice low and full of unnatural clarity.

"If you burn us... the boys burn too."

We need a plan, Zeus finally said. Now.

Artemis' expression darkened. She did not blink.

          "Agreed," she whispered aloud.

          And all the dolls smiled.

          What yall think lol
