Hey crazy thought BTW even tho I haven't written anything in a while do any of you think of me??? Like once in a while wonder what I'm up to? If so: I'm broke, don't have a job, literally can't write on wattpad without things breaking, I'm burnt out and heavily depressed, and barely hanging on by a thread :)

Is it just me or has writing on mobile gone to shit??? Like nothing has been fixed and it just keeps getting worse with every update that Wattpad puts out like I just want to write my silly little stories without stressing the hell out

Is it just me whose image format is messed up rn on mobile? Instead of the images and wording in chapters being close together, there are huge gaps unless you turn it to horizontal

Also to those of you who think trauma dumping in fanfic comments unprompted is okay,,,it's...not???

Like, unless the creator of the fic has stated that it's okay or have said its a safe space for trauma dumping,,,don't do it!!!!

Trauma dumping can be very triggering to many people and yes, some books do include types of trauma that many can relate to, but it doesn't always mean you have to rant about it!

It is a different story if a fanfic doesn't include any sort of traumatic things, and if it doesn't, DO. NOT. RANT!!!!

It's just a very uncomfortable thing to do and you shouldn't trauma dump unless the person your trauma dumping to is comfortable with it!!!

Also, if you make an x reader, don't give them a faceclaim! Also refrain from describing the character a certain way, because then it becomes less of a character for your readers to interpret, and more of an original character you create in your head.

Unless it's significant like a haircut, or describing the character as shorter than the rest because everyone else has SIGNIFICANTLY different heights.

But even then, you don't have to include that stuff.

Another thing I see are people who write "x reader" in the title and then proceed to give the character a name. Last names are OK because whatever, but x readers are very dependant on not giving the character a name so anyone reading can make up their own.

I know this is wattpad and this site has very low standards but still, it's very basic information.

Growing as a fanfic writer is realizing that you don't have to stay too close to the actual plot or stray too far from the plot of the show/movie your fic is based in. There will always be a middle ground. You just have to find it.

An example of staying too close to the actual plot is my Edmund books. I cringe deeply when I look at them, but it also makes me remember that it's only because I grew with my writing.

If your a first time fic writer, it's okay to be too close to the plot, but growing is realizing that you could stray from it without going too far.

It's the same with those who stray too far from the plot. Like say for example; The Summer I Turned Pretty. You can have the reader be with one of the characters while still having all the drama from the show going on.

This is just my opinion and you don't have to follow it. Idk, it just annoys me personally.
